Political interference in reputed educational institutions is at its peak as Gomal University Vice Chancellor Dr Iftikhar has been again sent on a forced leave of 90 days for the fourth time, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Gomal University Vice Chancellor Dr Iftikhar had refused to do the hiring of staff recommended by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur.

Dr Iftikhar has been sent on a forced leave of 90 days despite the fact that the matter was already in court but the provincial government took this step just to please former federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Dr Iftikhar is being treated like this because he refused to do the hiring of staff recommended by Gandapur and denied being part of the illegal division of the university. During his four-year appointment tenure, he was not allowed to work for even 12 months.

PTI leader Gandapur has ruined the future of two universities of his home town Dera Ismail Khan.
