Four students were injured during a clash that erupted between two student groups in Barani University located on Murree Road, Rawalpindi, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Sources said that the clash erupted due to personal enmity between two rival groups in the university.
Soon after the incident, local police reached the university premises and arrested three students and shifted the injured students to a local hospital.
Police started interrogating arrested students.
Earlier in October 2024, more than 26 students got injured during a clash between two rival groups in Quad-e-Azam University’s boys hostel in Islamabad.
According to the police, as a result of a clash between two groups, several students got injured, while the condition of one student is reported to be critical. During the fight, one group of students set the room of a hostel on fire. Students have also damaged various items in the hotels.
The rescue team has reached the site to extinguish the fire. Police have reached the site to control the situation. Meanwhile, the university’s administration has ordered students to vacate hostels for the next 10 days.
According to the administration, the hostel was being vacated from the students in the wake of the SCO summit, citing security concerns.
The administration has ordered students to vacate their rooms from Friday until October 20, 2024.
