Pakistan Rangers, in collaboration with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), on Tuesday arrested three hardened terrorists who belonged to the Swat Group of Fitna-ul-Khawaraj from the Quaidabad area of Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) recovered a large quantity of explosive material from the possession of arrested terrorists.
Earlier, in October 2024, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested three suspected terrorists linked to the Fitna al-Khawarij group in Karachi. The suspects, identified as Farhad, Haji Rehman, and Sagheer, were captured in a raid following intelligence reports, according to CTD officials.
The arrests come after an attack on a police checkpoint in Sohrab Goth, where one officer, Yasir, was killed and another, Salman Abbas, was injured. Fitnatul Khawarij had claimed responsibility for the assault. DSP CTD Chaudhry Safdar revealed that the suspects were involved in multiple attacks on police forces.
During the operation, authorities seized three pistols. The CTD stated that the arrested militants were part of the Molana Bashir faction of Fitna al-Khawarij and had recently been assigned to carry out further attacks. The confiscated weapons will undergo forensic testing.
