Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemns Khawarijs; prays for early recovery of three injured policemen

Two policemen embraced martyrdom and three others sustained injuries when terrorists attacked a checkpoint near Shangla in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) late Monday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, the militants fired indiscriminately and hurled hand grenades at the Gananagar police checkpoint, located in Chakesar, a tehsil in the Shangla district, as a result of which head constable Nisar Ahmad and ASI Hassan Khan died on the spot while three other officials identified as Muhammad Hussain, Arshad Khan and Rifat sustained injures.

The terrorists managed to escape from the scene after the attack.

A heavy contingent of police reached the spot after the incident and launched a search operation to arrest the culprits involved in the attack.

The dead and the injured police officials were shifted to DHQ Hospital, Battagram.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemns attack

On the other hand, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the police post.

Naqvi expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

He prayed for the early recovery of three policemen who were severely injured in the attack.

The minister said that the entire nation stood with the families of the martyrs in this hour of grief. 

He paid glowing tributes to KP Police personnel who rendered valuable sacrifices for the nation.

Naqvi said that the sacrifices of KP police personnel will be remembered forever.

He saluted KP policemen who fought bravely during the attack and embraced martyrdom.
