As Senate polls are notorious for bringing riches with billionaires accused of throwing money to win the Senate seats, a candidate with no assets has appeared for the upcoming Senate elections.
PTI leader Muhammad Khan Madni has appeared as the poorest candidate for the Senate from Punjab as his nomination papers have been approved by the election commission.
Madni declared in his nomination papers that by the grace of Allah he has nothing in assets.
He wrote that party leader Imran Khan and PTI were only his assets.
He is standing in the elections as an independent candidate and the PTI has not issued him even the ticket even as a covering candidate. He had also contested the general elections on a PTI ticket against opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz.
In the nomination papers, Madni mentioned that he neither has any plot of land nor any building to his name.
He declared that he does not own any property in the country or abroad. He mentioned also that he has not invested anything abroad and has nothing in remittances or drafts.
He also has not taken any credit facility from the banks with no outstanding dues are against him.
Madni declared that he does not own any saving certificates or shares in the stock exchange. Madni also declared that even no member of his family owns any asset.
The poorest candidate for Senate elections has Rs150,000 in bank and furniture worth Rs50,000. He runs a surgical instruments business and the total value of his business is Rs4,85,768.
