Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed Thursday justified action against senior journalist Mohsin Baig, saying that filthy discussions were going on about him and he had to adopt the legal path against the malpractice, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Addressing a press conference, the federal minister said: “Any action that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) takes against Mohsin Baig, I have nothing to do with it.”
Coming down hard on political bigwigs of the country, he said: “These politicians do not want a common person to progress. They cannot bear a middleclass person challenging them.”
Deploring personal attacks against him and his family, Murad said: “There are filthy discussions going on about me. Javed Latif was tasked with making disgusting remarks about my family. Qadir Patel, Hamdullah, and Rana Sanaullah have long been making sordid comments about me.”
He said that abuses were hurled at him in response to his arguments.
Murad Saeed said that helping the people of tribal districts was the mission of his life, adding that he had taken part in movements against oppression and injustice.
He also claimed to popularise the Insaf Student Federation (ISF) throughout the country, and adding that he had reached the Parliament after a thumping victory in 2013 elections.
