The chairman of National Accountability Bureau has approved a slew of inquiries including corruption charges against former Punjab chief minister and PML-Q leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The request to launch the inquiries into alleged corruption and kickbacks received while awarding contracts was forwarded to the chairman by Lahore NAB DG Ali Sarfraz.
According to sources, Elahi could be summoned by the anti-graft watchdog in connection with these inquiries going to be opened against him.
The Lahore NAB has also started a probe into corruption allegations against former XEN National Highway Rana Iqbal.
Meanwhile, the principal secretary of former Punjab chief minister Usman Buzdar who served as CM before Elahi has also come on the NAB radar.
The Lahore NAB has started an inquiry against Buzdar’s ex-PS Tahir Khursheed. .
The anti-corruption bureau has sought record of properties in the name of Tahir Khursheed from all the development authorities in the province.
The bureau also sought details of properties acquired in the name of his family members.
Mr Khursheed is facing charges of awarding billions of worth contracts to his favourite persons, hiring people in communication department without merit and accumulating ill-gotten wealth.
