The counter-terrorism department (CTD) personnel have arrested seven terrorists including a top commander belonging to an outlawed group during a number of operations conducted across Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel
A CTD spokesman informed the media that in view of rising terrorism fears 164 intelligence-based operations were conducted in different cities of the province including Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Layyah, Sahiwal, Mianwali and Bahawalpur.
During these operations, seven terrorists including a key commander of a banned organisation, identified as Hasnain Muavia, have been arrested, the CTD spokesman said and added, explosive material, hand grenades, six detonators and weapons were recovered from the possession of these terrorists.
The other terrorists were identified as Raheem, Usman, Murtaza, Umar, Rahmat and Kashif.
The CTD spokesman said these terrorists were planning to target different government installations.
