An unidentified person withdrew Rs239,000 from a woman's bank account depriving the poor lady of her life-long savings in another incident of cybercrime in Peshawar, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The victim, Anwar Sultana, lodged a complaint with the bank and the Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) but despite repeated reminders, no one is heeding her complaint.
The National Response Center for Cybercrime (NRCC) also stated that online banking is one of the major online crime activities.
The NRCC defines cybercrime as, “Any activity commissioned via computer, digital devices and networks used in the cyber realm, and is facilitated through the internet medium. It includes stealing millions of rupees from online banks to harassing and stalking cyber users.”
