The Lahore High Court has dismissed an appeal against the acceptance of the nomination papers of Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad from NA 56, Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The high court upheld the election appellate tribunal’s decision regarding the acceptance of Sh Rashid’s papers from NA 56.
A three-judge bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi announced the reserved decision on Wednesday.
A citizen, Arsalan Maqsood, filed an appeal challenging the acceptance of the nomination papers of the AML leader from NA 56 by an election tribunal.
Upholding the tribunal’s decision, the high court dismissed Mr Maqsood’s appeal.
