Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited under-construction Shujaabad Flyover project in Multan on Tuesday and inspected the work, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During his visit Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed to ensure quality in flyover construction and to complete the project in any case within the stipulated period.
Mohsin Naqvi also ordered timely completion of roads and other works related to Shujaabad Flyover
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also visited Jalalpur Pirwala bypass and inaugurated 3 major roads after construction and rehabilitation in Jalalpur Pirwala.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated 48 km long Shuja Abad, Jalalpur Pirwala Road, 17 km long Jalalpur to Permit Road and 15 km long Basti Maluk, Shuja Abad Road.
On the occasion the Chief Minister also briefed that construction of 48 km road from Shujaabad to Jalalpur Pirwala cost Rs2.5 billion.
Three major road projects which have been stalled for 2 years have also been completed in a few months.
The construction and maintenance of the 17 km road from Jalalpur to Permat cost Rs341 million while Rs306 million were spent on the construction, extension and maintenance of 15 km road from Basti Maluk to Shujaabad.
Work on the three road projects was slow and people were facing difficulties.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the pace of work on the projects was accelerated and all three projects were completed within the deadline set by the Chief Minister, said in briefing.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the roads and appreciated the high quality.
Talking on the occasion he said that with the completion of connecting roads of Shujaabad, Basti Maluk, Jalalpur Pirwala, millions of people will have ease of transportation.
He said that construction of link roads will enable easy access from farm to market.
The CM said that construction, repair and maintenance projects of 104 roads across Punjab are moving towards completion.
Construction of connecting roads will facilitate the movement of people, traders and farmers, said Mohsin Naqvi.
TH CM said all three road construction projects have been completed ahead of schedule.
The construction of roads will usher in a new era of development in Jalalpur Pirwala, Mohsin Naqvi said.
He said that economic development opportunities arise in the area where the means of communication are improved.
Provincial Minister for Industries and Agriculture SM Tanveer, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Commissioner Multan, Additional Chief Secretary South Punjab Secretariat, Additional IG South Punjab Secretariat, RPO Multan and related officials were also present on the occasion.
