The police in Lakki Marwat were able beat back an attack by terrorists on a police station in the city late on Tuesday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

The terrorists target Ghazni police station and Shehbaz Khel checkpost, but they met with stiff resistance from the alert police jawans.

The attackers, armed with rocket launchers and advanced equipment, were surprised by a rapid and effective police response, which led to their retreat.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported during the gunbattle. Following the attack, police high-ups launched a clearance operation in the area.
