West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance on the opening day of the first Test against Pakistan in Multan, emphasizing that their strategy paid off in the initial session.
At a post-match press conference, Seales stated, "We stuck to our plans, and that’s why the first session went in our favor.
I’m in good form and hope to deliver another strong performance tomorrow."
Seales commended the efforts of Pakistani batters Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel, who led their team’s recovery after an early collapse. "They batted exceptionally well.
We had our opportunities but couldn’t capitalize on them," he remarked.
The pacer added that the West Indies team is under no pressure and came into the match well-prepared.
Discussing his team’s bowling strategy, Seales highlighted the balanced nature of their attack. "We entered with three spinners and have a solid bowling attack overall.
With the delayed start, we focused more on spin, but the fast bowlers are getting assistance from the wicket as well," he explained.
Seales acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to counter Pakistan’s batting lineup. "We are committed to our plans and will work hard to break the impressive partnership tomorrow. The pitch is not particularly difficult, and we are optimistic about making a strong impact on Day 2," he added.
The West Indies team is eager to regain control after a mixed day, relying on their preparation and balanced bowling unit to turn the tide in their favor.
