Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Sunday visited Bagh Ibn Qasim for reviewing its rehabilitation plan, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
He was accompanied by council members and family members. On the occasion, he announced that a police band will perform at Bagh Ibn Qasim every Saturday and Sunday.
“Kothari Parade and the Dome in Bagh Ibn Qasim are the hallmarks of Karachi. Such a large recreation area will not be allowed to go to waste,” Murtaza Wahab asserted.
He said that a cycle track is being constructed for children and youth in the garden.
“A food court will be constructed in Bagh Ibn Qasim so that citizens can have food and drink facilities here,” Murtaza Wahab said adding that with the will of the council members, other facilities including futsal will also be provided in the garden.
Bagh Ibn Qasim covers an area of 134 acres and will make it a state-of-the-art entertainment venue, Mayor Karachi vowed.
Being a coastal location, thousands of people come to Bagh Ibn Qasim, he concluded.
Meanwhile, Murtaza Wahab visited various places in the East District of Karachi on a motorcycle. He reviewed the drain cleaning work at Pehlwan Goth near Habib University and passed an order to ensure the cleaning of the drain before the expected rains.
