Federal Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi Tuesday conducted a thorough inspection of the security arrangements for the Markazi 9th Muharram procession in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During his visit, Naqvi assessed the security setup to ensure the safety of participants and reviewed the route of the procession.

Expressing satisfaction, the organizers briefed the Minister on all security and logistical arrangements.

Naqvi also issued security directives to officials, including IGP Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa to further bolster security.

Naqvi also conducted an aerial survey of the procession route to identify and address any potential security gaps.

He emphasized that security personnel should remain on duty until the procession concluded to maintain a secure environment.

On the occasion of Ashura, the Minister directed strict implementation of the security plan in Islamabad, all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.

He stressed the importance of adhering to the special security plan and announced a nationwide ban on the use of drones over processions and gatherings.

Following Naqvi's instructions, the police, administration, and law enforcement agencies have been put on high alert.

Snipers are deployed on rooftops along the routes of the processions and gatherings to enhance security.

Minister Naqvi confirmed that all security requirements of the provinces, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan had been fulfilled.

In light of the rainy season, alternative plans were also put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of processions and gatherings.

He reiterated the need for strict compliance with the national code of conduct. The meeting was attended by Federal Secretary of Interior Khurram Ali Agha, DIG, and Deputy Commissioner.
