The post of the chief justice of Federal Shariat Court in Islamabad has been lying vacant for over a month, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
It is learnt that over 150 Shariah petitions are pending in the Federal Shariat Court, for they could not be fixed for hearing due to the absence of a permanent chief justice for over a month.
It is to be noted here that Muhammad Noor Meskanzai, former chief justice of Federal Shariat Court, had retired on May 14 last.
Justice Syed Muhammad Anwar has been the acting chief justice of the Federal Shariat Court since then.
