A delegation of university students and working journalists visited the offices of the Islamabad police and got a briefing about the measures the lawmen adopted to bring in betterment.
The visiting delegates took a tour of Safe City Authority, a summer camp for children and the driving licence facilitation centre.
According to a press release, the federal capital police chief shared with the visitors the capital police’s measures to better public service delivery.
He briefed them about the launching of safe city authorities in Lahore and Islamabad, stressing the move will help to keep a vigilant eye on every nook and corner of the capital city.
The top cop also highlights the importance of social media in the modern era.
He talked about the successful use of the helpline:1715. “We are making the maximum of technology as it is helpful to mount evidence. “
He stressed the need for building capacity and use social media to launch joint efforts for a peaceful community. He also shed light on public-police liaison, reforms and exchange of views.
The police chief insisted youth must be taken on board to bring in innovations.

He said he always encouraged constructive criticism so that new ideas can be floated
To a question, he said a mechanism will soon be developed to register private cameras.
He said the Islamabad police will arrange special events and summits for youths.
“We have planned to reach out to remote areas too to create awareness about the latest techniques and public-friendly policing.
The delegates visited a summer camp for children from 5 to 12 years who were learning self-defence skills and participating in other healthy exercises.
The delegation also visited the facilitation centre.
