PPP leader Senator Raza Rabbani has described the Kartarpur Corridor as a test case for the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), as he questioned the approval process and the project cost.
24NewsHD reported that Rabbani said how a project costing Rs16.546 could be approved without tender and following the [PPRA (Public Procurement Regulatory Authority)] rules and regulations.
The PPP leader said he had reservations over the mechanism to issue funds and the process adopted by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) to approve the first phase of the corridor.
Rabbani said not following the set rules raised several questions, including about the transparency in the government affairs.
Rules and regulations do not allow haste in mega projects, Rabbani said, questioning how the project got approved while setting aside the related laws.
