A young Pakistani soldier embraced martyrdom on Tuesday when Indian troops unleashed a cross-border attack in Shahkot sector along the Line of Control (LoC).
The Pakistani army retaliation caused heavy losses to the enemy.
“Pakistan Army responded effectively targeting those post which initiated fire, inflicted heavy losses on enemy in terms of men and material," the ISPR said.
"During [the] exchange of fire, one brave soldier Sepoy Wajid Ali, age 20 years, resident of District Dadu, valiantly responding to Indian ceasefire violation embraced shahadat [martyrdom]," it added.
The Indian troops have spiked up ceasefire violations along the LoC for a couple of days, creating panic among the civilian population.
