Former senator and founding chairman/Patron-in-chief of Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) Professor Khurshid Ahmad has expressed great grief and sorrow over the demise of renowned scholar and former president of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui.
He condoled the bereaved family praying that may Allah rests the departed soul in eternal peace while giving his family the patience to bear the loss.
In his condolence message, the former senator said that his association with Dr Siddiqui started from student days and spanned over a period of sixty years. His efforts for the growth and expansion of International Islamic University were commendable and will be remembered for a long time.
He further said Allama Iqbal Open University, Judicial Academy and many other institutions grew exponentially under the leadership of late Dr Anwar Hussain. He was also closely associated with the Institute of Policy Studies, remained a member of its National Academic Council (IPS-NAC), and always gave useful suggestions for the betterment of the Institute.
Professor Khurshid said that Doctor Anwar Hussain was a top-notch civil servant and a teacher whose hundreds of students are still serving the county in important positions. The demise of Dr Hussain is a loss of a teacher, a scholar, an administrator and a dedicated individual who always strived for the improvement of academic institutions of the country. The void created by his departure will not be filled easily.
