The Punjab government could not issue a single penny for 73 projects worth Rs97 billion in Lahore despite the passage of eight months of the current financial year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources privy to the report reveal that funds were not released for the upgradation of public schools in Lahore and the construction of a girls’ college in Sodiwal.
Similarly, funds were not released for Associate College Sabzazar and Gawala Colony.
Funds allocated for the upgradation of a hockey stadium in Lahore were not released.
Funds were also not released for the upgradation of a 1,000-bed hospital, disease centre and the Services Hospital skill lab.
Funds were also not released for the construction of Rana Abdul Rahim Memorial Hospital and for the establishment of a new hospital in Sadhoke.
Moreover, funds for the upgradation of dispensaries in Gulberg, Model Town, Garden Town, Faisal Town, and Madina Colony were also not released.
The construction of a 50-bed hospital in Gawala Colony and Chief Minister’s Stunting Reduction Programme also lacked funds.
The laying of sewerage lines and tuff tiling in UC-109 and Hanjarwal lacked funds. The widening of Sabzazar Kharak Nullah also lacked funds.
Funds were also not released for the establishment of a community centre and for the construction of a hostel for women in Lahore.
The construction of markets along Lahore Ring Road also lacked funds.
The construction of roads in Muslim Town (PP-160 constituency) and the establishment of streetlights in UC-151 also lacked funds.
The widening of PP-158 Mian Mir Underpass and Allah Hu Chowk signal free project also lacked funds.
Furthermore, the Irrigation Department did not receive funds from the budget allocated for the third party in the project.
Funds were not released for the construction of police stables, new chambers for lawyers and restoration of the historic Lahore High Court building.
Funds were also not released for the construction of new buildings of Prison Complex and Board of Revenue’s tax wing.
Approved funds for the construction of a parking plaza in Civil Secretariat were not released.
The construction of a hostel for Planning and Development board officers in Lahore also lacked funds.
No funds were released for sewerage schemes in Larex Colony and Shahdara.
No funds were released for the areas of Mehmood Booti and Babu Sabu and for the Project Management Unit.
Also, approved funds were not released for a water storage project at Gaddafi Stadium.
No funds were released for clean water supply projects in Union Councils 99, 100 and 101.
No funds were provided for Westwood Colony, Mohlanwal.
Funds were not released for a sewerage scheme in UC-229 and a water storage project in Haji Camp.
Funds were also not released for sewerage schemes in the areas of Muslim Road, Ravi Road, Mian Mir, Fateh Colony, Khan Colony, and Qurban Lines.
The budget approved for the improvement of Lahore Urban Infrastructure could not be released.
The establishment of a Floriculture and Lab Training Centre in Jinnah Park and the construction of a boundary wall around Safari Zoo also lacked funds.
Funds were not released to the History Museum and to the IT Department of the Lahore High Court (LHC).
No funds were released for the automation of Lahore Smart City and district courts.
Funds were not released for the purchase of new buses and the construction of a commercial building for transport in Kot Lakhpat.
Funds were not released for the construction of Green Building and for the establishment of Environment Monitoring Centre in Lahore.
Funds were also not released for a multi-storey building for Directorate General Public Relations and for the upgradation of Open-Air Theatre in Jinnah Park.
Funds were not released for the construction and renovation of the tomb of Ali Mardan Khan.
Funds were not released for a scheme to make 60,000 gallons of water for ablution at the shrine of Hazrat Madho Lal Hussain.
Funds were not released for Capacity Building of Pre-Research Centre.
