Key government ministers have come down hard on the opposition for, what they called, going for horse-trading in Sindh House to make successful the no-confidence motion in the National Assembly, 24NewsHD TV channel reported Thursday.
Prime Minister Imran Khan stands firm against the corrupt politicians, Planning and Development Minister Asad Umer said while addressing a press conference.
Flanked by Energy Minister Hamad Azhar and Information Minister Fawad Ch, Asad said such acts can’t shatter the PTI’s anti-corruption resolve.
“I want to make it clear that the PM has never bothered such acts and he won’t surrender. He is a leader,” Asad said adding that the party leadership will follow the law and continue with the public welfare.
He said the only difference between PTI and the opposition is that they are using the name of democracy for their "illegitimate practices, like blackmailing, horse-trading etc.
The PTI chief has no personal interest in public service, he said and alleged the people involved in the sale and purchase of votes have been doing their business in the name of democracy.
Seconding Asad Umer, Hamad Azhar said: “The Opposition has been exposed … the sale-purchase at Sindh House have shown the dirty picture of the sham system.”
Hamad took a jibe at the disloyal lawmakers who were elected on PTI tickets. He said the parliamentarians who got elected on PTI ticket should resign.
Fawad Ch flayed the opposition for buying votes to do their business.
“The people got to know that Sindh House is the centre of horse-trading," Fawad said while accusing the opposition of buying votes of MNAs. "The way markets are being set up is against the Constitution."
He said that there were reports of huge sums of money being shifted to Sindh House, adding that PPP has deputed police outside it to accommodate people there.
He said action will be taken in accordance with the law. He said such politicians were doing the business of politics.
The opposition leaders have been doing their business in the name of democracy, he said adding that the horse-trading and buying the loyalties at Sindh House can’t shatter the PTI leader’s resolve to take the mafia. They buy votes to get into power and earn profit by abuse of power.
