A petition has been filed for providing foolproof security to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan during his appearance in an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal heard the petition of Imran Khan.
“The security arrangements for Imran Khan's appearance in the Anti-Terrorism Court were not satisfactory. Two more cases were registered after Imran Khan’s appearance in the court,” lawyer for Imran Khan told the court.
“The PTI workers also entered the court premises along with Imran Khan. It is feared that more cases will be registered against Imran Khan after he appears before the court,” he said.
“An undertaking of security provision should also be taken from the Islamabad inspector general of police (IGP),” he demanded.
“The sessions court is making security arrangements for Imran Khan’s appearance. A letter has been written to the district administration and the Islamabad IGP for providing security to Imran Khan,” Judge Zafar Iqbal said.
