A three-year-old giraffe has died of diarrhoea in Peshawar Zoo, officials said on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Peshawar Zoo Director Iftikhar Khan said that the giraffe, which was brought from Africa two years ago, was ill for some time.
It is pertinent to note that Peshawar Zoo was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak in 2018. It is managed by the Forests, Environment and Wildlife Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
After the inauguration, within four months two giraffes were killed sustaining injuries during the transportation. As per the media reports, over 35 animals were killed including a precious snow leopard, cubs of common leopards, peacocks, primates, and a blue bull at the zoo.
