Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz has cried foul after ruling Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf secured victory in the Gilgit-Baltistan elections.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) have no worth in GB, she said on Tuesday.
Although the personnel of establishment were present in Gilgit Baltistan to manipulate the elections, the ruling party failed to secure a simple majority, she said, calling the failure ‘historic and shameful defeat’.
They have problem with Nawaz Sharif’s narrative in the meetings of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Maryam said, adding that all the parties are on the same page over the matter with different style and selection of words.
The PML-N leader said she had a brief conversation with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), over the phone. He did a praiseworthy act by raising voice against ‘rigged votes’.
However. she said they ( rulers) would have to go. About her strategy, the PML-N leader said she was aimed at showing the strength and exposing the ruling part that exists nowhere.
Forty-eight hours prior to polls, results were being circulated through Whatsapp, she said.
Maryam laid stress on ousting turncoats of mainstream politics forever. Asked if the PML-N elected member would take the oath, she said Nawaz Sharif will make the final decision.
