Govt to distribute buffaloes, cows among poor women in 12 South Punjab districts

Punjab government has decided to distribute buffaloes and cows among deserving women in South Punjab districts under Dhi Rani Programme, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to the scribe, Punjab government’s Dhi Rani Programme is aimed at the welfare of women living in remote villages. The women of 12 districts were liable to apply for livestock project till November 16.

Under the programme, women in Dera Ghazi, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Layyah and Kot Addu will get free buffaloes and cows. Cows and buffaloes will also be given to rural women of Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Wahari, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan districts. 

With the help of the programme, poor rural women will earn livelihood by rearing cows and buffaloes. Moreover, livestock project will also help increase in milk production in the country. 

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that financial independence of rural women of Punjab is among the to priorities of the government. She said village women will get employment opportunities from the livestock project. CM Maryam claimed that development and prosperity of every woman is the top priority of the government. Livestock project will also help government in meeting the target of increase in milk and meat production.
