Pakistan Kisan Ttehad has announced protests against the agricultural income tax next month, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
Addressing a press conference in Multan, President Pakistan Kisan Ittehad Khalid Mehmood Khokhar said that the agricultural income tax has become the enemy of Pakistan's food security while food security has come first in the whole world.
Agriculture is the only source of economy in Pakistan, and I will say there is nothing in Pakistan except agriculture, Khalid Mahmood Khokhar said.
Khalid Mahmood Khokhar said Pakistan has nothing in IT and industry.
Our agriculture is in dire straits because, unfortunately, agriculture is not among the priorities of the rulers, Khalid Mahmood Khokhar added.
He said that the destruction of agriculture is a global agenda. Electricity is free for farmers in the neighbouring country, and fertiliser is cheap.
Farmers are not considered human beings in our country.
Live stock has also been taxed, while the water of the industrialist is more expensive than the milk of the farmer's buffaloes, Khalid Khokhar said.
He said the farmer's milk is Rs 120 per kg, while the same milk is sold by the industrialist for Rs 400 per kg.
