Thousands from the Sikh community cast their votes in favour of Khalistan during a referendum held at Auckland's iconic Aotea Square, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.

According to the report, large crowds, including women, elderly individuals, and children, queued up early for the voting.

Sikhs from other cities across New Zealand also travelled to Auckland to participate in the referendum.

The event began with a prayer ceremony where participants offered tributes to martyrs and prayed for the establishment of Khalistan.

Pro-Khalistan slogans and anti-India chants were raised by voters during the proceedings.

The referendum marked a significant show of support for the Khalistan movement in New Zealand.
