Second ‘All Pakistan Triathlon’ held in Bahawalpur: ISPR

Inter-Services Pakistan Relations (ISPR) said that the second ‘All Pakistan Triathlon’ was held in Bahawalpur in which 522 athletes participated and attended by students of various colleges and universities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Corps Commander Bahawalpur Lt Gen Zia was the chief guest while Olympian Shehbaz Senior was the special chief guest on the occasion. 

Suhail Amir got the Best Athlete award in the Open category who completed all levels of the game in one hour and fifteen minutes, while Muhammad Bilal and Amir Abbas got second and third awards respectively in the Open category.  

Corps Commanders Bahawalpur distributed medals and souvenirs among winners. 

Hockey coach Khawja Junaid, Olympian Arshad Nadeem, Mountaineer Saima Baig, Olympian boxer Asghar Ali Changezi and others also participated in the event. 

On the occasion, presidents of the Pakistan Trilithon Federation, Athletes Federation, and Pakistan Sports were also present. 

All provinces and Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) floats and delegations participated in the event.   

Punjab Rangers showcased rifle drills performances. 

People of 18-45 years of age from all walks of life including civil society, teachers, university and college students, government employees, Police, Rangers, and Pakistan Army personnel participated in the event. 

The competition comprised of three events includes 300 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers cycling, and a 10 km cross country run.

The main purpose of holding the competition is to promote sports in society and provide opportunities to youth for benefiting from each other’s experiences.
