Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) of Manawala police station of Sheikhupura district, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
This action has been taken in light of the SHO's negligence in registering a First Information Report (FIR) following the unfortunate death of a child in a traffic accident.
The incident unfolded when a grieving complaint reached Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, alleging the reluctance of Manawala police station to register an FIR related to the accident that claimed the life of a child.
In response to this grave matter, the Chief Minister acted promptly, swiftly suspending the responsible SHO.
As part of the consequences, the suspended SHO has been directed to report to the Dera Ghazi Khan Range, Rajanpur.
Additionally, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Sheikhupura was issued a warning by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that any delay in the registration of an FIR is unacceptable under any circumstances.
In a compassionate gesture, the CM personally contacted the grieving parents of the deceased child to convey his heartfelt sympathy and condolences in the face of this tragic incident.
