PTI Chairman Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi could not be indicted in the hearing of the cipher case on Tuesday, after which the court adjourned the indictment until the next hearing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Special Court Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain heard the cipher case registered under the Official Secrets Act against the former prime minister Imran Khan and ex-foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Adiala Jail.
The court had fixed today's date for indictment at the previous hearing. But due to the non-distribution of the copies of the challan at the previous hearing, the prosecution could not take place.
However, the court distributed copies of the challan to the accused today and adjourned the hearing of the case till October 23.
Later, talking to the media, the PTI lawyers said that they received the copies of the challan today.
They said that the PTI chairman and Shah Mehmood Qureshi were brought before the judge. However, the judge said that the next hearing of the cipher case would be held in a large room.
They said that it is feared that Imran Khan would be sent to the military court on the basis of the statements of 22 people taken under section 164. They said that the PTI chairman's message for the workers was that the workers should show patience.
