Abject poverty has driven a couple to commit suicide by taking poisonous pills in Tehsil Jaranwala of district Faisalabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Shahbaz Masih and Tabeeta got married a year ago and were living in Chak 240, Jaranwala.

Fed up with the poverty, the couple took poisonous pills. The neighbours shifted both the husband and wife to a hospital for medical treatment. However, the couple breathed their last at Allied Hospital of Faisalabad.
The police started further investigation into their deaths.
The news of the suicide sent shock waves among the relatives who gathered at their house.
