As the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) announced a partial restoration of flight operations for the UK from Sunday (April 19), the one-way fare would be 525 pounds sterling (Rs110,000).
This fare is much higher than the pre-lockdown days when a return ticket used to cost Rs65,000 to Rs70,000.
According to a PIA spokesperson, these flights will be operated daily from Lahore and Islamabad to London, Manchester and Birmingham to repatriate the Pakistani and British nationals stranded in the two countries.

The flights are available for booking starting Saturday on first come, first serve basis. However, the passengers who booked flights earlier will also be adjusted.
Separately, ten chartered flights, organised by the UK government, will take around 2,500 stranded British travellers from Pakistan back to the UK.
In this connection, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has allowed Qatar Airways to operate these special flights.
These special flights will be operated from Islamabad and Lahore to London and Manchester. The flight schedule is as under:
From Islamabad to London Heathrow – April 21, 22, 23
From Islamabad to Manchester – April 24, 25, 26, 27
From Lahore to London Heathrow – April 22, 24
From Lahore to Manchester – 26 April
The flights are expected to cost £527 and are free for Under 2s. To book their seats, and find out more information, British travellers should visit the Pakistan TA Return to the UK page on GOV.UK.
More than 7,500 British nationals who do not usually reside in Pakistan have already returned to the UK from Pakistan by commercial means, as the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has worked with Pakistan to keep routes running and airports operating.
