Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Patron-in-Chief Shehbaz Sharif has extended the tenure of PCB Management Committee for another two months, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
After the extension, the Management Committee will continue its work till 22 June 2023.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif nominated a 14-member management committee headed by Najam Sethi in December last to run the affairs of the PCB till the elections to be held within the next four months.
But, the PCB election commission could complete the election process in 9 regions and 60 districts of the country so far.
Patron-in-Chief has directed the management committee again to complete the election process in all 16 regions and 106 districts before June 22.
The management committee was given the task of complete revision of PCB constitution 2014 and restoration of democratic system in country cricket.
According to the PCB Constitution 2014, a management committee can be appointed for six months to steer the board affairs in the right direction.
By the end of May, the election process will be completed in all the regions and districts of the country
In four and a half years during Imran Khan's tenure, the two PCB chairmen could not register a single club across the country.
