An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Wednesday cancelled the arrest warrants issued for a diehard PTI supporter, Khadija Shah, in the case of burning and vandalism of Askari Tower on May 9, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Khadija, who is also the daughter of a former finance minister, appeared in the court and assured Duty Judge Arshad Javed that she would show up at every hearing in future.
The court had issued her arrest warrants on Tuesday after she continuously skipped hearing of the case.
Later the court adjourned the hearing of the case until May 2.
Police produced other suspects in the case, including Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Umar Sarfaraz Cheema, Ijaz Chaudhry and Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed, in the court.
A case number 1271/23 had been registered against all these PTI leaders and supporters at Gulberg Police Station of Lahore.
It is pertinent to mention here that Khadija, who had remained in jail for months in connection with the incidents of violence of May 9, was later released on bail.
