The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Friday extended for the fourth time the deadline for filing sales tax and federal excise returns for the tax period of February 2025. Taxpayers can now file their returns by April 25 instead of April 18.
The FBR has issued an official notification confirming extension in the deadline. The decision has been made under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and Section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005.
FBR officials stated that the extension has been granted to facilitate taxpayers who may be facing challenges in filing their returns on time. The move is intended to help them avoid penalties and ensure timely compliance.
