Two wanted terrorists of Daesh were arrested in a joint intelligence-based operation of Sindh Rangers and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) at Gudap Town, Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the Sindh Rangers spokesperson, the terrorists were identified as Farmanullah alias Ehtesham alias Ali alias Rehmatullah and Dawood alias Ameer Sahib.

“Hand grenades and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the accused,” the Rangers spokesperson said.

“Farmanullah was a highly active member of Daesh, and he was wanted in several cases of terrorist attacks in Bajaur and Karachi,” he added.

“His accomplice Sikandar was arrested in Karachi in 2020 while Farmanullah had fled to Afghanistan at that time,” he stated.

“Some time ago, he came to Karachi from Afghanistan and went into hiding. His close associates have been killed in encounters with security forces in Bajaur. Cases are registered against him in PIB Colony police station,” he added.

“Dawood alias Ameer Sahib belonged to Tehreek-e-Taliban Bajaur, and he recently left Tehreek-e-Taliban and joined Daesh,” the Rangers spokesperson maintained.

“Both Farmanullah and Dawood were reorganizing their terrorist group. They are likely to reveal more information about their involvement in incidents of crime and terrorism,” he said.

“Raids are being conducted to arrest other accomplices of the accused who, along with the ammunition recovered from them, were handed over to the police for legal action,” he stated.
