A citizen in Karachi could not see his wife being dejected and moved a consumer court, demanding action against a shopkeeper for selling a faulty shoe which had not only broken into pieces but also triggered a heartbreak, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

In its response, the Consumer Court Karachi East accepted the application and summoned eyewitnesses at the next hearing.

The applicant informed the court that his wife had bought a pair of shoes of her liking from a shop located on Tariq Road – one of the famous business districts in the port city – for Rs1,600. However, the product didn’t last long and one of the shoes broke into pieces within days.

As a result, he said, they complained to the shopkeeper who isn’t ready to address the problem.

Mentioning that the faulty shoe caused the serious depression to his wife, the applicant requested the court for a severe action and imposition of a hefty fine on the respondent.

Certainly, the chances of this shopkeeper getting punished for his short-term gains instead of developing a long-term business relationship and not protecting the consumer rights are very high. Perhaps, he didn’t know the woman he is dealing with has a husband who can go to any length to make his life partner happy.

Earlier on Thursday, 24NewsHD had reported about another husband who had climbed up a power pylon after the failure to address the anger of his wife

It happened in Kandhkot where Nadeem Jamali decided to take his own life. As he climbed up the pylon, a large number of people gathered there to watch the episode.

But then came a dramatic twist as the angry wife reached the spot to convince him. So the lucky Jamali decided to climb down after seeing her doing this.

Although this Kandhkot story had a happy ending, it’s a risky business. But the relationship between the Karachi couple is seemingly ideal and the best model for other aspirants, as there is very little chance of any domestic fight in this scenario.
