The motorway, which was closed due to heavy fog, was opened after nine and a half hours of closure, 24News HD TV channel reported on Sunday.
The Motorway Police said due to heavy fog in Lahore and Punjab, visibility was affected so some sections of major highways were closed.
The Motorway Police said, Motorway M2 from Lahore to Khanqah Dogran while M3 from Faizabad to Sarandi was closed due to heavy fog.
Lahore-Sialkot Motorway and Multan-Sukkur Motorway were also closed but now the motorway has been restored for traffic in case the fog subsides.
The Motorway Police also issued instructions to the citizens to drive carefully and not to travel unnecessarily.
