Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja is likely to be replaced and Najam Sethi is a strong candidate for the post, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The premier is said to have given an indication to make Sethi the new chairman of the PCB.
The Prime Minister is all set to revive the 2014 Constitution of the PCB by rolling back the PCB 2019 Constitution.
Sources said that Ramiz Raja as Chairman of the cricket board will along with PCB Board dissolve when the 2014 constitution of the PCB will be enforced.
Once that is done, PM Shehbaz will issue a letter from two representatives of PCB and a new chair will be elected in five to 10 days.
Ramiz Raja was elected unanimously and unopposed as the PCB’s 36th chairman for a three-year term in September last year.
Sethi stepped down as the PCB chairman in 2018 when Imran Khan was sworn in as the prime minister.
He was appointed on a three-year term in 2017. Sethi has also worked as the PCB chairman in 2013 and 2014.
