The Wildlife Department lost revenue worth millions of rupees due to the incompetence of the officers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
As per the official sources, revenue is collected by issuing permits for Aryal hunting in Punjab every year.
Due to the incompetence of the officers, bidding for the issuance of the permits was delayed this year.
Due to the delay, no hunter participated in the bidding process.
It is to be noted here that The Wildlife Department has set per Aryal hunting fee at $25,000.
Local hunters were not interested as the fee for hunting was too high.
Due to the delay in bidding, foreign hunters also could not come.
The first auction was held on December 5 and the second on December 8, but no bidders came.
