Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah Friday took notice of the press conference of Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, in which the Minister stated about the delay in cases of “pending taxes” in the courts, as CJ Minallah summoned the meeting of a top government functionaries meeting on February 22, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Registrar High Court wrote a letter to Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Attorney General.
A letter was also written to the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Competition Commission of Pakistan Chairman and Chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.
IHC sought reports of pending cases of relevant departments.
It is relevant to mention that Fawad Chaudhry had said in a press conference that cases worth billions are pending in the courts.
The Information Minister had also asked the judiciary to take notice of the matter.
