A security official of the caretaker chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and his son were among the three people killed in a gun attack in Dargai area of Malakand district in KP on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to Levies officials, the KP chief minister’s security in-charge Wakeel Khan was traveling with his two sons and two accomplices on two motorbikes when unidentified assailants opened fire on them.
Khan, one of his sons and one of his accomplices died on the spot, while the other son and accomplice were critically injured and taken to the hospital.
Khan's brother also died of a heart attack after hearing the news of the attack. The motive behind the attack is not clear yet.
Locals in Dargai staged a protest and blocked the road in the area after the incident, demanding justice for the victims.
The Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice(retd) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah taking the notice of the incident directed the police officials to investigate the incident and submit a report.
He instructed to take necessary action for the immediate arrest of the elements involved in the killing. He also expressed heartfelt regret over the incident.
The Chief Minister expressed his sympathy and condolences to the affected families.
He vowed that the elements involved in this sad incident cannot escape from the grip of the law under any circumstances.
