Four accused were killed in five police encounters on Monday night in Karachi while five suspects were arrested, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to details, in five alleged police encounters with criminals late Monday night, four accused were gunned down while police nabbed five others in an injured state.
A police unit of anti-violence crime cell indulged in a shootout with a group of car lifters on Northern Bypass in which two accused were mowed down. Police conducted raid for the arrest of the alleged car lifters.
SSP Bashir Barohi informed that the group was involved in car snatching incidents in the interior Sindh.
In another encounter, a street criminal was shot dead by police in Gulshan Maamar.
The law enforcers arrested two dacoits in wounded condition after a gunfight from near Malir Anwar Baloch Hotel.
In another encounter with dacoits, police were able to arrest an outlaw in injured state while his accomplice managed to flee.
In a firefight held in Bhains Colony, Rehri Goth, police nabbed two dacoits who got wounded during the encounter.
Police arrested two wounded dacoits during a shootout with dacoits in Sakhan. However, three other dacoits managed to run away. Police recovered weapons from the possession of the arrested accused. They also recovered two stolen motorcycles from their possession. The accused were involved in incidents of loot and theft.
The slain and injured accused were shifted to Jinnah and Abbasi Shaheed hospitals.
