The National Highway Authority (NHA) is all set to resume the construction work on the dualisation of Kahuta-Rawalpindi Road, meanwhile NHA officials have sought no-objection certificate (NOC) from Capital Development Authority (CDA) to start the process, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
A 28-km two-way road will be constructed from Kak Pul Islamabad to Kahuta.
Likewise, CDA also requested the details regarding the project's proposed design from NHA.
It merits here to mention that the project was launched in 2018 when Khaqan Abbasi was the Prime Minister but it was put on back burner in Imran-led government on some political grounds.
The project is being revived by the NHA after a hiatus of four years.
In March 2018, the total cost of the project was estimated to be at Rs13 billion. The cost of the project significantly increased as a result of the delay.
