The Airport Security Force (ASF) seized 1.054 kg of ice heroin from a passenger who was trying to board a flight to Doha from Islamabad International Airport on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The passenger, identified as Rashid Ashfaq, had concealed the contraband inside his handbag.
The ASF personnel detected the drugs during a routine search of the luggage and arrested the suspect on the spot.
He was later handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) along with the recovered heroin for further legal action.
The ASF has been vigilant and proactive in thwarting drug trafficking attempts at the airport and has seized several kilos of narcotics in recent months.
