The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected the formation of a joint investigation team (JIT) to probe the alleged propaganda against the Supreme Judiciary on social media, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.

The PTI spokesperson said that the JIT was a violation of the constitutional and democratic rights of the citizens to express their opinions and communicate freely.

The spokesperson said that the constitution and democracy guaranteed the citizens the basic rights of expression, communication and criticism and analysis, and that any citizen had full right to criticize the state and government actions, including court decisions, with good intention.

The spokesperson accused the caretaker government of imposing illegal and unconstitutional restrictions on the media and social media for the last 22 months, and said that the purpose of the JIT was to shield the unjust judicial decisions from public scrutiny and to create a favorable environment for killing the constitution and democracy.

The spokesperson also alleged that the caretaker government was preparing to attack the courts through rallies, to insult the judges by displaying their pictures in the meetings, and to hand over power to those who threatened the judges of the higher courts with dire consequences.

The spokesperson said that history would continue to analyze the unjust decision of the Chief Justice to deprive more or less 10 crore Pakistanis of their political identity through the most cruel and flawed judicial decision.
