The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued its new regulation policy for Hajj 2025, linking approval of Rs3 million or above Hajj package to security clearance.
The ministry also said on Saturday that names of people applying for a Rs3 million or above private Hajj package would be sent to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and security agencies for clearance. The FBR would scan the assets and tax records of such people. Their personal records would also be scanned just to make sure they are not involved in any criminal acts in Pakistan. The ministry would clear these people for Hajj on the basis of the reports of the FBR and the security agencies.
The tour operators offering Rs3 million or above Hajj packages would also provide details of the applicants to the ministry and then the ministry would approve these packages. The ministry has appointed its official Muhammad Hakeem Khattak as focal person on this high-profile Hajj scheme.
