Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture Attaullah Tarar has claimed that 190 million pound case was open and shut case and there were no legal faults in the judgment, reported 24NewsHDTV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore along with religious leaders on Saturday, Atta Tarar said there is no legal ambiguity as documents say Rs 250 million were recovered money.
Information and Broadcasting Minister advised PTI leadership not to play religious card in politics and face corruption charges as no one can deny that UK government handed over 190 million pound to then government which returned it back to the accused.
Atta Tarar said during PTI government, Shahzad Akbar continued to work as the recovery head. He wrote a letter in January 2020 saying that the government of Pakistan had taken back money that belonged to him. The document said Shahzad Akbar also went to London after recovering the corruption and bribe money and handed it over to the government.
He said NCA handed over the seized envelope to the government of Pakistan and PTI handed govt over handed over the sealed envelope to the accused person who committed the crime.
Tarar said two hundred kanals of land, a house worth twenty five crores and diamond rings were taken as bribe when PTI govt returned the money to Malik Riaz.
Atta Tarar said NCA transferred money to Pakistan and PTI govt returned the money from which it was confiscated. He said despite open and shut case, PTI using religious card after judgment in 190 million corruption case.
Information and Broadcasting Minister raised questioned with ulemas that religious education was not being given in Al Qadir University then why PTI was using religious card? Information and Broadcasting Minister urged PTI not to use religious card and keep religion away from politics.
