The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has revoked licences of 17 PIA pilots, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
After the approval from the government, the PCAA director-general has issued the notification regarding the suspension of the pilots.
The TV channel also reported that Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) of 48 pilots, including PIA first officer, has also been suspended without issuing show-cause notices. Suspended pilots have been given two weeks’ time period to file a response for their clearance.
The national airline is in the process of firing 17 pilots after their licences were revoked, the TV channel said, quoting its sources.
The PIA had already grounded 17 pilots in 2019 while licences of more than 160 pilots are under investigation.
